Main Scales ("we", "us") is a small advertising agency in Glendale, California that runs Facebook and Instagram ads for local businesses. This page explains what information we handle and how.

Information we collect

We handle business contact information that is publicly available, such as a business's name, address, phone number, website, and business email address, so that we can contact local businesses about our services. If you use the contact form on this website, we receive the name, email address, business name, and message you submit. We also keep the emails and messages that people send us, and the details a person or business gives us directly when they choose to work with us.

How we use it

We use this information only to communicate with businesses about our services, to respond to messages, and to carry out work for clients. We do not sell your information and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Email and opting out

Every email we send includes our business mailing address and a way to opt out. If you reply "stop" or ask us to stop, we will not email you again and we keep your address on a do-not-contact list so that we do not contact you by mistake. You can also write to alec@mainscales.com at any time.

Google user data

Main Scales uses Google's Gmail API with our own Main Scales mailbox only. The tools we use access this mailbox to send our business emails and to read replies to those emails so that we can respond. We access only our own business account and do not access the accounts of any customers or visitors to this website.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use this data only to provide and improve email correspondence for our own business. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or transfer it to others except as needed to operate the service or comply with the law, and no humans read it other than the owner of the mailbox.

Client accounts

When we work for a client, the client keeps ownership of their own Meta business account and ad account and adds us with limited access. We do not have access to a client's billing or payment method, and we do not see their page messages or reviews.

Website hosting and form

This website is hosted by Netlify, which also processes contact form submissions on our behalf. We do not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies on this site.

Data retention and security

We keep business correspondence for as long as it is useful to run our business and to honor opt-out requests. We use reasonable safeguards, including password and multi-factor protection on our accounts, to protect the information we hold. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date above shows the latest update.
